World Storytelling Day is a worldwide celebration of the oral storytelling art form. People of all ages and origins meet on this day to exchange stories in a variety of languages and styles. We commemorated World Storytelling Day at our school Finland International School, Race Course in South Mumbai by inviting local storytellers to perform in the auditorium. We also held a storytelling competition among the students, in which we were free to choose any theme and genre for our stories. Listening to and telling stories from many cultures and views was a wonderful and enriching experience. On this particular day, we learned a lot about the power and beauty of storytelling.
