KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the process of admission right from the point of a walk-in or telephonic inquiry to the final admission.
  • Addressing parents’ queries and helping them in counselling along with the principal.
  • Facilitating School tours, follow-up calls or emails after visits, checking if all the steps of admission are complete.
  • Helping out with marketing activities which involve sending our schools videos and pictures, and coordinating with the PR team if there are any events.
  • Provide confidential secretarial, administrative, and client support services to the Principal and the Managing Director.
  • Helping the Principal and the Managing Director in day-to-day operations and office coordination
  • Any other Ad-hoc duties or projects to be assisted on as listed by the Principal, Vice Principal, and the Managing Director
  • Helping with calendar management, meetings management, and drafting experience letters.
  • Coordinating with HO in case of any issues related to IT & Accounts for FIS Teachers
  • Maintain Admission folders and documentation which will contain the following:
    • basic information about the Finnish Education philosophy and teaching pedagogy
    • information about the infrastructure and other facilities at the school
    • affiliation with the board: why we have selected Finland teaching pedagogy and competency.
    • advantages of the chosen education board to the students
    • how we adapt the board guidelines to our system and make it more valuable as compared to any other school that just TEACHES the course
    • our achievements as a company, school, students
    • brief profile of The Principal, Vice Principal, and our teachers
    • Collaboration at Workplace – For successful team functioning and one of our key principles followed at School.
    • activities over the past year if any
    • comments by our parents, students, and visitors, where our students have visited.
  • Training & mentoring the team in Admissions and work collaboratively.
  • Take daily feedback from the team with respect to the admissions and strategize on improvements.
  • Develop a well-decorated room for the counselling purpose, if possible as a model classroom
  • Ensure smooth functioning of the admission process for the school.

    Role:

    The core purpose of the teacher’s role is to enable students to learn effectively and to provide support for the academic and pastoral needs of the students. The teacher should always support the aims and values of the school. The teacher would work alongside the Finnish ECEC teacher or Finnish Class teacher.

    We are looking for Class Teachers for Grade 1-4 as well as subject teachers for Hindi, Marathi and Spanish.

    Qualifications: B.Ed, M.Ed, Bachelors Or Masters in any, ECCED

    Teacher Effectiveness: Teaching & Learning

    The teacher should:

    • Contribute to the development of curriculum and production of units/schemes of work.
    • Become familiar with the Finnish curriculum guidelines, and work towards their successful implementation.
    • Decide and explain clear learning objectives alongside the Finnish ECEC Teacher and Finnish Class Teacher and set appropriate assignments with an adequate time allocation.
    • Present material in a clear, organized fashion.
    • Stimulate interest in the subject matter.
    • Set work at the appropriate level and encourage high student performance, consistent with ability.
    • Use a variety of methods and available teaching aids, aiming to meet the needs of the individual child and the group.
    • Encourage creative and critical thinking and expression of ideas.
    • Provide feedback that is designed to motivate the students.
    • Evaluate and record student progress.
    • Contact parents through written reports and other formal and informal means, as required.
    • Plan activities to broaden the experience of the learner, as appropriate.
    • Write and implement learning objectives that are challenging and measurable.
    • Monitor, assess and report on learners’ work and progress.
    • Demonstrate and pursue excellence in teaching and best practices in education.
    • Use classroom and behavioural management strategies that are positive, structured, consistent, respectful, and responsive to student needs, to build a safe, orderly, inclusive, and positive classroom community.
    • Utilize an effective approach to behaviour management, time management, classroom organization and appearance, planning, teaching, learning and reporting.
    • Ensure that effective classroom routines are established and followed.
    • Encourage students to develop good work habits, neatness and careful use of materials, books, and ICT.
    • Assist students in developing self-discipline and independence.
    • Encourage respect among students and between teacher and students.
    • Show consistency and fairness in dealing with students.
    • Create a psychologically safe learning environment that is conducive to risk taking.
    • Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all students in activities.
    • Work with colleagues in a co-operative spirit.
    • Give and accept constructive suggestions and feedback for improvements.
    • Refrain from public criticism of the school or colleagues and communicate any concerns through the appropriate channels.
    • Show tact and discretion in dealing with school matters and remain calm and objective if difficult situations arise.
    • Respect & maintain confidentiality of school policies/documents.
    • Be punctual in meeting all time obligations and deadlines, with regards to all aspects of the role, including the production of reports, arrival at school and lessons, classroom supervision, duties, meetings etc.
    • Respect all deadlines set out by the Principal and the Vice Principal, maintaining appropriate documentation.
